Ten short films are participating in the official competition of the Sidi Kacem Moroccan Short Film Festival, which will be held from November 7 to 11.

 

A statement from the festival's management stated that the selection process for this edition, dedicated to the memory of Abdelhak El Mabshour, Secretary-General of the National Federation of Cinema Clubs in Morocco, resulted in the selection of 10 films: "Void" by Rachid El Amari, "Nations Like You" by Khawla Regragui, "The Victim" by Safaa El Hajji, "The Mask" by Hicham El Halimi, and "Spring" by Zakaria Kharrat.

 

The list also includes "The Moment of Realization" by Sakina Naciri, "The Curse of an Angel" by Mourad El Abari, "Mirror for Sale" by Hicham Amal, "Ha Takhmami" by Thami Bourkhis, and "Candle" by Ismail Ait Lahcen.

 

This edition focuses on consolidating the festival's position as a meeting place for creators, researchers, and critics, and as a platform for supporting the Moroccan short film industry as a vital laboratory for experimentation and free expression.

 

In keeping with this year's theme, "The Film Club... School of Vision," the festival seeks to enhance its educational and cultural role in shaping the rising generation of filmmakers through a parallel program that includes training workshops, special screenings, and intellectual seminars focused on the reality of the image and its aesthetic and humane questions.
